☆ Biden would veto bid to reverse 'Buy America' EV charging waiver

The White House said the Republican bill to rescind that waiver would also overturn the FHWA decision to impose Buy America rules on EV chargers. As a result, the 1983 Reagan administration decision to exempt manufactured products from Buy America requirements would again apply, meaning EV chargers would not be covered by any Buy America requirements, the White House said. Republican Senator Marco Rubio challenged the White House argument, arguing they would separately rescind the 1983 waiver at any time. "The Biden administration is waiving the law’s ‘Buy America, Build America’ provision, which means they are directing taxpayer dollars toward foreign-made EV chargers," Rubio said.

☆ BP buys $100 million worth of Tesla chargers

CNN —Oil and gas company BP has agreed to purchase $100 million worth of electric vehicle chargers from Tesla. This marks the first time Tesla has ever sold chargers to another company, according to an announcement from BP. BP will begin installing the chargers next year, but no specific number of chargers was mentioned in the announcement. These chargers won’t look like other Tesla chargers, though. BP Pulse, BP’s EV charging business, operates 27,000 charging points currently and has announced plans for rapid expansion.

(AP) — Patrick Mahomes threw for 424 yards and four touchdowns, Travis Kelce caught 12 passes for 179 yards and a score, and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-17 on Sunday to take command of the AFC West. Joshua Palmer caught five passes for 133 yards and Joshua Kelley ran seven times for 75 yards and a score. The score left Mahomes with 321 yards passing, the fourth time in his career that he had been over 300 yards before halftime. And it left Kelce with nine catches for 143 yards and a score. It only left the Chiefs with a 24-17 lead, though, because the Chargers were getting some big plays of their own.

Los Angeles tied it at 17 with 7:11 remaining when Gerald Everett caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert. Brandon Aubrey made two field goals, including a 39-yarder with 2:19 remaining, to give the Cowboys the lead. It also marked the longest TD run by a Cowboys quarterback since Jon Kitna went 29 yards against Detroit in 2010. The Cowboys took a 10-7 lead into halftime when Aubrey connected for a 32-yard field goal on the last play of the second quarter.

Also, the Raiders announced that starting cornerback Nate Hobbs will not play because of an ankle injury, and running back Brandon Bolden didn't make the trip to Los Angeles because of personal reasons. An arrest warrant has been issued for Los Angeles Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson after he failed to appear for a court hearing on traffic charges in Massachusetts.
